U.S. President Donald Trump reaffirmed strong commitment to U.S.-India relations during a White House meeting with Ambassador Sergio Gor, highlighting ongoing diplomatic engagement and strategic importance of bilateral ties involving Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Returning briefly to the United States, Mr. Gor described his first engagement as a high-level meeting with the President. In a post on X shared Tuesday evening, he stated, “Back in the U.S. for a few days. First stop, meeting with our GREAT President in the White House. The President deeply cares about the relationship between the U.S. and India.” The statement underscored the administra
tion’s continued emphasis on strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.
Mr. Gor also posted a photograph from the Oval Office, featuring himself alongside Mr. Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, highlighting the importance of the engagement at the highest levels of the U.S. government.
Having assumed office as the U.S. Ambassador to India in January this year, Mr. Gor brings prior experience from his tenure as the Director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office. In addition to his ambassadorial responsibilities, he also serves in a key administrative and diplomatic capacity as the U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs.
